For our coffee and brainstorming meeting I only met with Mary, because she hadn’t told anyone that I was going to be a part of the wedding day and wanted my painting to be a complete surprise!
One of the best parts of painting is that I can really customize and tailor what the final piece will look like. And it doesn’t have to exactly match the scene I’m painting. Mary really loved the idea of removing a few of the tables to really show off the fireplace and have them dancing in that area vs. where the dance floor was on the other side of the room.
She envisioned a moody tone to the painting to really have the candle glow be a main feature of the artwork. We both were obsessed with the idea of showing off the back of her dress and having it looped up on her arm showing off the swoosh of the gown as they danced together among their guests.
The overall party vibe and composition of the painting makes my little artist heart so happy!
