What is commission and how does it work?
A COMMISSION is when you choose to have me create a custom work of art for you.
Crafted around your vision and specifications, we work together to brainstorm what the painting will look and feel like.

Rough sketch to give you a preview of the composition and so you can give me feedback on any changes you might like to make before the painting begins
a choice in the overall type of color scheme or mood you’d like to aim for
I have 2 different beautiful frame options you can choose from that are included in the package pricing
The size included is up to a 22x28in canvas. You are welcome to choose a smaller size, it just doesn’t affect the pricing.

Questionnaire
BEGIN THE PLANNING
Once you are booked I will send you a questionnaire where you can send me any photos or inspo for your artwork and fill out a few questions that will give us a good start on the direction you would like for your painting style. -

Brainstorm
MEETING
This brainstorm meeting can be in person if you are local or over FaceTime. We will chat about color, composition, vibe, and the overall design of your painting. -

Rough Sketch
OF COMPOSITION
After our initial brainstorm meeting I will send you a rough sketch for you to get a visual on the design. You are welcome to give any feedback here so we can make adjustments before the painting begins. -

Painting Begins
UPDATES & BEHIND THE SCENES
I will send you updates and behind the scenes along the way for you to follow along on the painting’s progress!

Approval
FINAL
Once the painting is finished I will send you photos and videos of the final piece so you can let me know if we need to make any small adjustments to the artwork.

I have 2 frame options that are included in your package for you to choose from. I do offer custom framing for an additional fee if you prefer a different look. Both of the frames I offer have an old world feel to them.

Delivery
YOUR ARTWORK IN YOUR HOME
If you are local to the Greenville SC area I can meet you and deliver the painting into your hands. Or I’m happy to ship the artwork to your door.
How long does it take?
Oil Paint is a very slow drying medium and takes time to cure. I generally give an estimate of around 6 weeks once I start the painting. This also gives me time to really create and give my absolute best to your artwork.
Payment
Options
To book your custom painting is a $500 deposit. From there you have 2 different options.
Option 1: Pay the remaining balance once the painting is completed.
Option 2: Choose a 6 or 12 month payment plan that starts the month after you place your deposit. (no additional interest & you will go ahead and receive your painting once it is ready to be delivered)
Artistry & Timing
I’m not here to paint 100+ works of art a year—I want to craft something timeless. Which is why I only accept a certain number of commissions each season.
At the start of each quarter I announce how many commission paintings I will be taking on and once those fill up my books are closed until the beginning of the next quarter.
Every Painting I take on is designed with the utmost care and consideration of my client.
I treat my clients like co-creators and my work like craft.

How is Commission different
from Live Painting?
Live Wedding Painting is a large part of what I do each year as an artist. For Live Painting I come and create the painting on location at your wedding or event and paint what is happening around me.
With commission paintings these artworks are all done in my studio and often from photographs or a description of what you would like me to paint.
