Paris

I confess I was worried that this “City of Light and Love” was going to be way overhyped. That the Paris of movies, songs, and art was going to leave me feeling like a dream had been dashed.

But she was everything I wanted her to be. This past august I was able to visit Paris for the first time for a couple weeks and it was like walking through the paintings of so many artists I hold dear.

Toting my sketchbook with me everywhere I was able to sit on the Seine, or outside the Louvre, or under the shadow of the Notre Dame and Sketch in places that bygone artists loved by the world have sketched before me.

And frankly I can’t wait to go back and do this all over again.

I am in the process of building a collection of oil paintings based around the sketches I made while in Paris. I have finished 4 so far, but over the summer I shall be finishing the collection once I am through the busy season of weddings!

In the meantime here are a few of my candids from the trip to get you excited about the collection! - Kristin
