One of the first things Katelyn mentioned on our FaceTime was that she REALLY wanted to willow to be the main focus for the painting.
She loved the idea of simplifying the painting by removing any chairs set up for the ceremony and just leaning into the landscape. Featuring the two of them strolling through the garden with a few family members in the distance.
Originally we had discussed the painting having a lighter, brighter aspect, but after discussing what the important details were we chose to lean more toward a twilight feel so that I would be able to include some glow of the twinkle lights in the willow.
I’m obsessed with the colors and composition of this piece and how her veil leads your eye into the painting!
