esteban + julie - THE CLIFFS AT GLASSY CHAPEL

In February I had a wedding planner reach out to me last minute with a special request. She had a groom who wanted to surprise his bride with a live painting on their wedding day.

With less than a week until the wedding, the groom and I quickly pulled together the vision and vibe for the painting.

We decided I would come up to the cliffside chapel and create my reference sketches and then head down to the reception venue to begin the painting. I would have to be stealthy about it. I was trying my best to be incognito while exploring and making my sketches at glassy chapel. I kept tucking my sketchbook into my oversized rain coat whenever anyone would get to close and pretend I was with the venue checking on the landscape. ha!

It was so worth it because her expression when she finally saw me painting at the reception was priceless!
